This portion of the exhibit is dedicated to understanding the children's views of the Rocket Kid during the late 1950's throughout the end of the 1960's.

The items in this exhibit consit of ways children would have expressed interest in becoming a Rocket Kid. These items include letters to astronauts, pictures of children play related to space, and toys or entertainment forms that also dealt with space exploration from this time period.

Each object's portion contains a text that is scripted as if it were recruiting children to become a Rocket Kid. These descriptions reveal how children may have played with the items in realtion to imaging space travel or their explicit desires to go into space. The object also contains an image related to the item. If you click on the item image, you will be directed a larger discription of the item.
